Smart containers, also an answer to business issues

-  Smart container security and tracking device has the potential of saving companies millions of dollars in lost and stolen cargo.

-  C-TPAT members using smart box technology that indicates a “breach free” condition at a U.S. seaport or land port-of-entry will ensure swift, preferential* treatment through custom lanes. Delay caused by usual custom treatment causes cost ranging between $400 and $1200 per container.

* the preferential treatment through Second Tier “Green Lanes” by Customs Border Patrol” (CBP) is consistent with the C-TPAT and Commissioner Bonner’s announcement in February 2005.
